Dead Horse Trauma's take on a Juice cover

Wednesday night at the DMMC Managing the Media event, Dead Horse Trauma presented me with themselves on the cover of Juice. I wish they had given it to me before the panel, because the topic of how to get a music writer to notice you came up and this certainly qualifies.

A lot of bands ask to be on the cover of Juice, but Dead Horse Trauma impressed me by having the audacity to actually do it. As I blogged earlier this week, it's pretty rare that a band ends up on the cover, but their self-made cover earns them a mention here. The band has a CD release show for the new album "Infestation" Nov. 14 at the House of Bricks.

The Horseshoe Spatulas play a CD release show Nov. 13 at the Vaudeville Mews. Sadly, it's also the group's final show as guitarist Andrew Pratt is moving out of town.

Bright Giant, formerly the Josh Davis Band, play an EP release show Nov. 14 at the Mews. The band has taken an interesting turn in the last few months, working closely with Luke Pettipoole of The Envy Corps.
