Wiz Khalifa, Greg Brown and Lamb of God shows announced
I'll preface this blog with a "Not together." That would be crazy.
Wiz Khalifa brings "The 2050 Tour" to town on Oct. 27. When Khalifa played Des Moines last year he sold out the Val Air Ballroom in about two hours. So where do you put someone who's too big for the Val Air but not big enough for Wells Fargo Arena? How about the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Juicy J, Chevy Woods and others will be a part of the show. Tickets are $40 and go on sale Friday through ticketfly.com. The Jacobson Center holds about 5,500 people, which could open up a new world of possibilities for bringing mid-level acts to Des Moines.
Greg Brown will play an intimate show Dec. 14 at Wooly's. Brown has played much larger spaces in Des Moines, and the Wooly's date will be all seated and a very limited number of tickets. So you might want to jump on the $28 tickets when they go on sale Friday through Ticketfly.
Speaking of the Brown family, daughter Pieta is playing the Vaudeville Mews on Oct. 27. Tickets for that show are $10 through tikly.co.
Lamb of God cancelled its summer tour after frontman Randy Blythe was arrested for manslaughter in the Czech Republic, which is horrible, but also one of the most metal sentences a person could be a part of. The band did play Knotfest last month and is returning for a Dec. 4 show at the Val Air Ballroom. In Flames, Hellyeah and Sylosis open. Tickets are $32 in advance and go on sale Sept. 21 through Ticketmaster.
