A collaboration with Gnarls Barkley's Danger Mouse and an album full of heartbreak-inspired songs bring a noirish, sometimes sinister edge to Jones' understated pop-jazz. Even peppy tunes like Happy Pills mask dark intent, and the ones that follow through on the spaghetti-Western influence of their work together on last year's Rome album offer unexpectedly shivery thrills.
