Pink isn't blue on Blow Me (One Last Kiss), a defiant breakup anthem that's our Pick of the Week. It's a sly, sneering brush-off that suits the pop singer's brassy vocal style. "I'll dress nice, I'll look good, I'll go dancing alone/I will laugh, I'll get drunk, I'll take somebody home," she belts over producer Greg Kurstin's rocking dance beats. It's from Pink's The Truth About Love album, due on Sept. 18.

THE PLAYLIST
10 intriguing tracks found during the week's listening:

This Head I Hold, Electric Guest
Snappy lyrics, catchy dance grooves and Asa Taccone's soulful falsetto ensure a bright future for the rising L.A. band.

Henrietta, Yeasayer
The saga of cancer patient Henrietta Lacks inspired the band's smartly bizarre mash-up of history and alt-soul.

After the Gold Rush, Patti Smith
Backed by a children's choir, Smith brings grim poignancy to Neil Young's classic, the closing track on her engaging Banga.

I Just Started Hating Some People Today, Beck
Beck takes his surreal bag of tricks to Nashville on a snide retro tune produced by Jack White at his Third Man Records.

Homeless, Paul Simon
This gentler version is among many treats on the 25th anniversary edition of Graceland, still a transcendent delight.

The House That Heaven Built, Japandroids
Dread underlies the Vancouver duo's usual garage-rock intensity on this highlight from the aptly titled Celebration Rock.

Go Right Ahead, The Hives
The Swedish garage heroes top their glammy bruiser with a slice of cheese, ELO's Don't Bring Me Down, and it still rocks.

I Shall Not Be Moved, Public Enemy
An older Chuck D hasn't lost his bite on an electro-funk rap from upcoming Most of My Heroes Still Don't Appear on No Stamp.

Brats, Liars
Revived from an earlier release, this grimy techno track is a surprising detour on the spare, artful WIXIW.

I'll Be Waiting, Adele
This soulful, blues-shaded gem is one reason 21 remains firmly entrenched on the charts and likely to dominate year-end sales, again.
