The Honeybees
Style: Acoustic rock
Hometown: Des Moines
Members: Rae Fehring, left, and Paige Clouse
Formed: 2007
Bio: The Honeybees started in October of 2007 and within six months recorded their first EP, "Faders Up." tHb have played everything from coffeehouses to historic live music venues like Lion's Lair in Denver; and in just a little over one year they have shared stages with many acts, including up-and-coming artist Coles Whalen and national touring artist Dick Prall. They expertly combine their ecclectic mix of musical influences into a sound that can take listeners on a journey from intimate and melodic ballads to can't-stay-in-your-seat rock. The Honeybees can rip through the rockers like "Fix Me Up Again" and "Over Again" or throttle back on tunes like the rootsy, harmony-laced "Impotent Heart," or the alt-country anthem "Hallelujah." Lead singer Rae's voice "floats like honey over the sometimes stinging guitars," wrote Sharpe Smith of The Des Moines Register. The Honeybees are in a perpetual state of writing new music and are ready to head back into the studio for their first full-length LP. tHb are working their way across the country to bring their unique acoustic rock sound to a live music hive near you.
