80/35 Wild Card: 5 finalists
Scores of music fans have given their input on which bands should play the 80/35 Music Festival. At this point, the headliners are set, but you can still influence the fest. Five local bands are vying for a chance to open one of the Saturday free stages at the July 3-4 festival.
After initial rounds of online voting determined the finalists, five diverse acts will compete in our 80/35 Wild Card Contest June 10 at People’s Court. We’ve broken down some info on the bands to help with the selection process; click through this gallery to learn more.
How the voting will work: Everyone who attends the concert will receive a ballot as they enter People's. If you have purchased a ticket to 80/35 through www.iowatix.com, you also will receive a second ballot. (The theory is that those who already have purchased tickets are seriously invested in the local music scene and 80/35 and so deserve the extra vote.)
How to win 80/35 tickets: We're giving away three pairs of two-day passes to 80/35 at the concert, nearly $500 worth of tickets. We'll give away two pairs valued at $140 and one special pair of VIP passes (now sold out) that carry a $200 total value. Upon entry to the Wild Card concert fans will receive a raffle ticket; winners will be drawn and announced from stage throughout the night, with (of course) the VIP passes the last to be given away. You'll need to be present to win.
