Elephant 6 Degrees of Patrick Tape Fleming
When Patrick Fleming, center, and his band The Poison Control Center open for Jeff Mangum Saturday night it will give him one more connection to the fabled Elephant 6 collective of artists. That group of musicians, including Robert Schneider, Bill Doss, Will Cullen Hart and Jeff Mangum, made up the core of multiple groundbreaking bands of the ’90s and 2000s. We sat down with Fleming to run through his connections to some of the E6 bands.
“The whole thing that’s awesome about the Elephant 6 bands is how open they are. They’re just normal people. They were very humble and probably haven’t made a ton of money. But they’re the kind of people who seem very excited when someone says ‘I love your music, can I buy you a beer?’”
