Americana Restaurant and Lounge: User Reviews
The service at the bar is no better than what has been described by a table diner in a previous post. The bartenders the nights I visited were apathetic at best and actively disinterested at worst. Ask for a recommendation and you'll get a shrug. Perhaps it was a bad night, both nights, and by the two different bartenders ... to that I say look for a job at the DMV or with the TSA.
As a manager, I told my employees if they're bringing a bad day to work with them, both should stay at home and meant it; I'd rather figure out to cover for someone having a bad day than deal with the type of service I have experienced at Americana.
Other than that, good location, nice design, and there's always hope for turnover in management and staff.

I cannot believe this place made it on the top 100 restaurant list at all...let alone near the top! My boyfriend and I visited this place on a busy Saturday night after hearing how cool it was. The vibe in this place is cool; great ambiance with the tin ceiling, old tile floor and old movie posters.....but that is where the positve comments stop. After we screamed our wine order at our server so she could hear us, we proceeded to wait...and wait for her return. When she finally came back to take our food order (after delivering stale, obviously opened-several-nights-before glasses of $10 wine) we asked for her suggestions. After straining to hear, my boyfriend ordered the house burger and I ordered what was supposed to be a curried chicken dish with jasmine rice. What arrived at our table was a burger the size of a credit card inside a huge bun that tasted like tar. My dish tasted like something my mom used to make in the 1970's before international cooking was cool. It was more along the lines of "rice with canned tomato sauce and minuscule pieces of chicken stirred into Minute Rice." This place was a HUGE disappointment. The only way we will return is to have drinks (not wine) in the bar if we really don't feel like talking to each other....

I ordered lunch from Americana today, just the Mac and Cheese to go. It was fabulous, the staff was friendly. I fully plan on visiting when I don't have to eat at my desk.
