I previously wrote a positive review for West Towne. I still think the food is quite good and the menu is tempting. However, I have pretty much had it with the terrible service. Today I was on the patio with a group of my colleagues and when I opened up the ketchup bottle it somehow literally popped and exploded all over me. My nice work clothes were completely stained, not to mention fermenting ketchup all over my food, the table, my manager next to me and much of the patio. To my surprise, the waitress did very little to help me, nor did she really seem to care. Never once did she apologize or the ketchup bottle or for the face that I was completely covered in ketchup. I thought perhaps I would get a discount on my meal, but once again, no compensation or apology was offered. I spoke with the manager and he didnt seem to care much either. I kept giving this place chances, but the service keeps getting worse and worse every time I visit. Might be best to get the food to go here-make sure you have your order correct before leaving though, as they really dont seem to care about customer satisfaction.

Ive visted West Towne Pub a handful of times and always had a great meal! Their menu has many options and something that will please anyone. My issue I had there was trying to figure out what to order from all the options! I have only eaten at the Pub for lunch, but Ive heard that its a great place to go out at night-and seems to have one of the best patios in Ames! The staff is friendly and efficient-and try the nachos!

Bags...

The beer was cheap, the food was good (altough don't just dive into the jalapeno poppers until they cool down unless you like the feeling of burnt skin peeling off the roof of your mouth), but to top it off...any place that you can play bags out on the patio is good in my book. I don't make it up to Ames much anymore since I can't stand cyclone bars, but this place wasn't that bad.
