OH MY GOSH, I HAVE SEEN BEHIND THE COUNTER WHO MAKES THE FOOD AT B-BOPS, IF YOU KNEW YOU WOULD EAT SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN B-BOPS. THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY CLAIM TO BE. SORRY, BUT I USED TO EAT BE-BOPS. IT GROSSES ME OUT NOW!

Fast food or not B Bops is hands down the tastiest burger ever. I like the fact that its nothing special ..its about the way it is prepared and agrees with most peoples tastebuds. Amazing!! Even for the pickiest eater. You dont need to drown a burger with eggs, bacon bbq sauce all that stuff when you actually know how to cook one. Ryan Des Moines

I think the best burger in town is at Johnny's Hall of Fame. Double Cheese Burger!

If Des Moines votes a fast food burger as the "best burger" in town...that is saying something very sad about our city! I'm appalled that it made it past the first round!

Growing up in Des Moines for the past 64 years I know that the best hamburger ever served in this city was once found at Kerry's Restaurant which used to be located at East 9TH and Boyd Streets. This little neighborhood restaurant was one of Des Moines first drive-ins and they also served the famous "Viking" grilled tenderloin since it was located across the street from now new named Grand View University. These hamburgers were lean beef grilled cooked and served always on a lightly toasted bun with a mild slice of burmuda onion, lettice and dill pickel. Cheese was added if you wanted it and mustard and ketchup you put on yourself if you wanted them. Their french fries were as McDonalds used to be handmade and fresh every day. Just the VERY best of Des Moines.

B Bops are great, but the "best burger" need to have a thicker patty than that.

Once smoking was no longer allowed in Francies, you could taste how good the burgers are. Thanks to the no more smoking law, food tastes good once again.

The best thing about the Gateway burger at Gateway Mkt is when you eat it with a few french fries for lunch you don't have to eat any dinner. You won't be hungry again until the next day. Best in town by far!
