Scene: The east-side restaurant, off of University Avenue, is a quick drive from downtown. Cafe Fuzion sits in the same modest strip mall as Thai Flavors, but it distinguishes itself with a menu filled with Thai, Laotian, Korean and Japanese dishes.

The interior is tasteful, cozy and clean, with small clusters of minimal artwork on the red walls, a golden Asian gate and cushioned retro chairs. The view of the parking lot is obscured by sheer black curtains.

Food: You officially found a reason to get out of your lunch rut (for me, it's PB & J). The lunch menu is divided into five sections, so you are not overwhelmed with pages of options. Yet, every dish listed seems unique and thoughtful.

We started off with the Fuzion wraps, a tasty, light Laotian-inspired dish filled with coconut fried rice, noodles and veggies, then bundled with fresh, cold lettuce, and wrapped in rice paper.

Next, we tried the chicken panang, with red curry, coconut milk, bell peppers, onions and basil. This Thai dish was spicy, but not heavy, and easily manageable for a sensitive stomach when paired with a cup of hot tea.

On the clock: One hour from door to door. 30 minutes travel time (including walking to our car parked five city blocks away) and 30 minutes in the restaurant.

Price: For $13.91, I split my lunch with a friend and we still had leftovers. As a bonus, our waiter even gave us extra rice to take home.
