Beaverdale's B&B Restaurant closing
B&B Restaurant closed this weekend and is being sold by Hobbs and Hobbs LLC to chef Robert Sanda, 27, and businessman Jeff West. Sanda and West take ownership today and plan to reopen it August 10 or 17 as Tally’s Restaurant Bar and Catering.
Sanda will be the executive chef.
“It’s the kind of place you’ll be able to spend a couple bucks, or drop $10 on a burger and soda,” Sanda said.
Dinner entrees will range from $8.99 for sandwiches to $23 for the surf and turf option.
Sanda served as head chef at Cosi Cucina from 2005-2007 before he worked at Metro Fish and then as kitchen manager and catering supervisor at The Radish in Grimes. He was always looking for a restaurant of his own.
“I’m not very good at having bosses,” he said.
Tally's will serve casual American cuisine, steaks, fresh seafood (from Metro Fish) and numerous vegetarian options.
“These are all dishes I’ve tried out at Cosi Cucina, The Radish and catering,” he said.
Sanda will keep the rooftop patio open. He will bring his own kitchen crew (including sous chefs Matt Mickel and Stephen Bittick of Cosi Cucina) but hopes to retain as much of the B&B wait staff as he can.
He will “definitely” renovate the restrooms and hopes to create a display kitchen.
“I like to be out talking to the guests, asking questions, that kind of thing,” he said.
Tally's will be open 4-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday for dinner, and the bar will be open later. Sanda hopes to expand with lunch and Sunday brunch hours. Tally's is located at 2712 Beaver Ave., the phone number is 279-2067 and its web site is at TallysBeaverdale.com.
