Overall rating:

This review was a great way for me to find out what it was like to eat at Perkins in Ames. I wonder if it is like eating at the one on Euclid, the one on Merle Hay, McKinley, or the one in Urbandale, West Des Moines, Newton, Marshalltown, Waterloo, Rochester, MN, or any one of their nearly 500 locations in the United States or Canada.

Got me through college

I spent lots of time at Perkins in college. Two of my best friends at ISU were engineer students and happened to study a bit more than myself. Whenever I really had to get some studying done, I would accompany them to Perkins where they would be working all night. The staff was always extremely friendly and patient with the college students (although many of them were students themselves I guess) and the service was good no matter if it was 6pm or 3am. Perkins may have contributed to my freshman 15, but it also gave me the fuel to study way longer than I would have otherwise. Im sure its doing the same for many other ISU students!
