Jade Garden shows the others how it should be done

We have been regulars at Jade Garden for a few years now and have always had an enjoyable visit every time we go. It's not a fancy place, but George and his team know how to make you feel welcome and provide great food, service and value. We always start with their "must have" legendary Egg Rolls, which are much larger than those at other places and are served cut up for ease of handling. Then we have two entrees to share between the two of us, along with unlimited steamed rice, hot tea and fortune cookies. All prepared fresh to order, in generous quantities and full of delightful, subtle flavors. Service is always friendly and efficient, and with drinks and tax two hungry people can dine for just over $20 and leave completely satisfied. If you are in Ankeny anytime, don't miss this one, its a real gem!

No massed produced buffet here. Good selection of items that are prepared just for you. Staff is excellent and if you are a repeat customer, they'll know what you like when you arrive. A refreshing change from "Hi, I'm *** and I'll be your server". Quiet atmosphere and their sizzling rice soup is a must.

For some of the meals it's cheaper here than at McDonalds! I've been a huge fan of this place since it opened in 1985. No buffets! (And they like it that way) All food make and prepared in house when you order it. Great lunch spot!
