Life’s too short, and there are too many great foods in the world to squander a meal indifferently, filling up on nothing special. So generally, I don’t do fast food.

Except when I do.

Like most people, I find myself now and then standing in line at the fast food counter. Usually it’s when I’m traveling on the interstate, and there are few other options. Sometimes, it’s simply because there’s no one around to eat with and nothing in the fridge. Or that age-old excuse — I’m rushing from one thing to another, I’m hungry, and … before I can even think, smack-dab in front of me are some golden arches.

Once in a great while, I eat fast food simply because I kind of crave it. And when I do, these are the five places I’m most like to head.
