Absolutely horrible. Avoid at all costs!

For a place that is named after pasta, specializes in pasta, serves tons of pasta... you'd think they'd be better at making... PASTA! I've been here several times (weddings, etc. not by choice)

I don't like writing negative reviews, but they serve 100% gross, over-cooked, mush. Nothing more I can say! It's like the owners had never heard of al dente' before! Pasta is supposed to need to be chewed before swallowing! You could slurp this stuff like jello, no texture whatesoever.

Go for the salad bar and mix and match pasta

I definitely dont think that Spaghetti Works has the best Italian in Des Moines-but dont get my started on that! It does however, have pretty decent pasta and sauce options and the salad bar is a huge plus. Its clean and filled with a delicious variety. There are few things more disappointing to me than a lame salad bar, and this is not one. You can get your regular salad items as well as meats, cheeses, and a great offering of pickles and "relish tray" type of foods. The mix and match pasta is a really great deal, and its a great lunch spot. Although, going back to work after loading up on carbs all day makes for a sleepy afternoon.
