I forget...rave reviews for the carrot cake at LaMie and Gateau Marjolaine at Bistro Montage.

Latin King's tiramisu and Same & Gabe's lemon mouse cheesecake are my desserts.

Alba's molten chocolate cake is so good!! We have traveled and dined at many nice restaurants, but I don't know of any place where you can get such a rich and fabulous dessert. Whenever we take guest there, they all agree- it's a winner!!

I've been going to Mezzodi's on Fleur since they opened, and BY FAR, the best dessert in Des Moines -- or EVER, as far as I'm concerned -- is the Chocolate Falling Down Cake!! My friends and I have a special name for it (that can't be published!) but let's just say it's the BEST DESSERT EVER!!!

Chocolate falling down cake at Mezzodi's is terrific! Lucca's is a close 2nd place. Both are better than Alba's, imo.

THE wonderful Chocolate Cake by Becky Smith @ El Patio Restaurant...on 37th Street just north of Ingersoll. Have been going there since 1947!.
