Countdown: 5 best desserts in Des Moines
By W.E. Moranville, Datebook Diner
Special to Metromix
When it comes to desserts, many restaurants simply sling predictable crowd-pleasers such as crème brûlée, chocolate monster cake, and cheesecake. Often made elsewhere and brought in on a truck, they’re the culinary equivalent of a passionless kiss.
The best restaurants, however, put as much love into that final course as they do everything else they serve. Imagination, hard work and quality ingredients combine for signature finales that express each restaurant’s devotion to craft and their affection for those who sit at their tables.
Here are five desserts that will make you feel loved. And you can vote for your favorite, or add comments to this gallery to speak up about a dessert we didn’t include.
