Ken's Biggie
Eat it: $8.14, Ken’s Diner, 3900 E. 14th St.
Info: 265-9739
Some light crepes. A nice bowl of yogurt with fruit. Bran flakes. Some breakfasts just don’t satisfy. If you want to feel like you’ve eaten, really eaten, go for The Biggie at Ken’s Diner. It’s three eggs, hash browns and double meat.
Let’s start with the eggs: Scrambled eggs with cheese usually means a cold slice dropped atop just before your meal is brought out. At Ken’s the cheese is mixed into the eggs as they cook so that no portion is left uncheesed.
The hash browns? Crisp and delicious and piled so high that I couldn’t finish them all (which is embarrassing as a breakfast fan).
The double meat equals six slices of bacon, but served in a mound of crunchiness that never seems to end. And forget boring toast and order yours with a muffin or biscuit. If you’re able to eat lunch after consuming The Biggie you might be a bottomless pit.
