The first thing Alex noticed, of course, was that each table had its own flat screen TV. They were all tuned to an Iowa game, but the waiter said we could switch to any of the 80 channels they carried. Alex wanted to watch cartoons. Fortunately, they had a main speaker playing the football game that could be heard throughout the restaurant, and I could see the other, bigger TV screens from where I sat.
So he watched his cartoons. I watched my game. We had a good time together.
THE GOOD
The Stadium had 22 TVs, a good sound system and friendly wait staff.
The menu had an assortment of game time goodies: Six varieties of stadium buffalo wings, three kinds of boneless wings and lots of appetizers from cheese fries to nachos.
We ordered nachos from the regular menu and a big plate of chips, cheese, meat, salsa and sour cream was delivered quickly.
I had a pizza burger, which was actually a sausage patty topped with mozzarella and pizza sauce on a Kaiser bun with a side of fries. The Stadium also has half price kids meals on Sunday.
THE BAD
The nachos ($7.50) were a little pricey for what we got.
The kids menu was not so great - pretty typical kid food such as mac and cheese and corn dogs. Alex ordered the mac and cheese, which looked like something I would have made from a box at home, so I was disappointed.
THE VERDICT
The food for the most part was tasty. Appetizers were too expensive. But I could spend all day there watching a football game and talking with my son about his week without either of us getting bored.
