We tried: Veggie Burger, $8.50. The Gateway Market Cafe is not your typical grocery store eatery. This chic reinvention located inside an upscale neighborhood grocery store has a menu full of worthy choices. We tried the Veggie Burger, a generous burger (the term “patty” doesn’t do this giant justice) served on a potato bun with the usual fixings, but it’s the chipotle dressing and the heaping mound of thin-cut onion straws that tip the flavor scales. In fact, we’re willing to bet that the Gateway Market’s veggie burger could hold its own against many of its finer meaty compatriots in a taste test.
