I honestly I have ever had anything spectacular at Christophers, but the food has always been consistently good. The Beaverdale crowd loyally flocks here, and Im thinking it must have just as much to do with the relaxed friendly atmosphere as it does the cuisine. They have great house salad dressing and steaks.

Haven't eaten at Christopher's since 1973 and it was always great. Used to walk by there every day walking home from Holy Trinity. Just a note: Its been there for over 61 years.

Without any doubt, Christopher's is THE FINEST restaurant in Des Moines. I've eaten there at least 500 times and have NEVER, EVER had one meal that was less than excellent! It's my first stop whenever I return to my home town.
How can you beat a warm atmosphere, on-the-premises owners gushing kindness, a cracker jack wait staff eager to please, reasonable prices and superior entrees cooked perfectly every time. (ALWAYS get the house dressing on your salad....you won't find the likes of it anywhere else).
If you enjoy the ambiance of fine dining that was the 1950s-1960s, before the advent of chain restaurants, this is the place for you. It is truly one of Des Moines' treasured icons.
