We went to Flying Mango this weekend and I was thrilled and a bit disappointed at the same time. I realized that some of their delicious Creole food that I have eaten off their catering menu, isn’t actually on their regular dinner menu.
However, I quickly got over it after looking at all the yummy choices in front of me. I couldn’t decide between the brisket and garlic and lime grilled shrimp with mango salsa over fettuccini. The waitress recommended the pasta and it was AMAZING! IT was sweet, yet didn’t carry too strong of a mango flavor. Honestly, like nothing I’ve had before. I’m just dreaming about going back for it. They have a chicken pasta too, for those that aren’t into shrimp.

Im really excited because we are moving to Beaverdale, very close to Flying Mango and I plan to eat there more often that I do now. They have a fantastic menu full of smoked meats and cajun and creole favorites. My fiance and I love jambalaya, and they have the best that Ive had in the Midwest. The gumbo is also very good and I could never get tired of their ribs.

If you want an authentic experience with great, interesting food and friendly service, Flying Mango always delivers! Not your run of the mill franchise place with no character, and if you give them attitude, you just may get some back! I love it!

I've been to FM a few times. The menu has a long list of items that I haven't tried yet, but would love to with some time. The brisket is amazing here. My wife doesn't like beef and is particular about healthy meals, but found the fish selection fairly nice. She wasn't as immpressed with her meal as I was. Verdict--- if you like BBQ, this is an excellent place.

I stopped in here a few months ago after hearing rave reviews about the place. Being a vegetarian, I knew it would be difficult, but it was okay. The waitress brought out the wrong drink (I ordered a tea, she brought out a coke), overall the meal was okay, but lots of little mistakes. When we were leaving, my dining partner who had half of her chicken and all of her green bean side left asked to have it boxed up. The waitress brought it back with just the chicken. She threw away all of the beans! We were quite disappointed and told her. She took quite a bit of time (either digging them out of the trash or making new, I'm not certain) and brought out a new side. What makes me not want to return (I can get over a poor waitress experience, we all have bad days right?) is that when my dining partner told the manager/owner he said is a snooty voice "what do you want ME to do about it?" and shooed us out. He obviously does not care that someone had a bad experience in his restaurant.
The food was okay (not fantastic) and the service was poor, but after that interaction, I'll not be returning. There are plenty of other places in Beaverdale to frequent that care about the customer!
