Trostel's Greenbriar Restaurant & Bar
Troy Trostel, chef at Trostel's Greenbriar Restaurant, left, chats with AnnaBelle and Jim Sillars. (Bill Neibergall/The Register)

There's an old-school, masculine feel to this dining institution, with the dark wood, leather and cloth booths, and dark chairs with gold-stud details. The menu features slow-roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, aged steaks, pasta, poultry, rack of lamb and roast duck. Chef Troy Trostel features a different specialty appetizer and entrée each week, influenced by seasonal foods and those raised or grown in Iowa. For more casual dining, they offer a special menu year-round at the mahogany bar, and patio dining in the summer months.
