Editorial Datebook Review: Zen Sushi and Noodle Bar
Zen Sushi and Noodle Bar
Dining area at Zen Sushi and Noodle Bar 400 Walnut Street. (Bill Neibergall/The Register)
Zen is owned by chef Jeremy Morrow, who also owns Azalea and offers enough variety to please even those who aren't quite ready for raw fish. There are several noodle dishes, two vegetarian rolls and an Iowa roll, which features pork. The place has a trendy feel, which makes sense, since it opened around the time a handful of other sushi spots hit Des Moines. But Zen's variety and atmosphere make it stand out from the crowd.

"Great Chic Downtown Spot"

By slewis6 from Windsor Heights, January 2, 2009

Anxious to stop in for lunch...but until then the dinners are excellent. Trendy, yet comfy--great for a pre-civic center event.

Never been, need to go 2

I am happy to report I have now tried a few of the spots on my first "need to go" playlist. Here are a few more that Ive thought of since then.

Best Sushi in town!

I've had my fair share of sushi in Des Moines. I'm no expert, but I do know what I like and love. I've been a sushi fan for several years, starting from the Waterfront and working my way around town to find the next hot spot for my love of sushi.

After-Work Spots For Really Good Days ... or Really Bad Days

You can also go on average days. These are versatile places, people.
