Tuesday special is bananas!

We did a little double date at Thai Flavors last night and were lucky they're still running their "summer special" for Tuesdays. We got an appetizer, two dinners, a bottle of wine and dessert for $30. The portions weren't scrimpy, either. I took a whole lunch portion of pumpkin curry home! (Try the fried bananas dessert. It comes with ice cream stuck with a drink umbrella!)
Our servers were really sweet, but seemed inexperienced. It didn't bother me, though.

I had the pleasure of eating at Thai Flavors tonight for dinner. My parents are a big fan of the restaurant and frequently have it delivered to their house-they deliver pretty much anywhere in the Des Moines area. My dad raves about the Pad Thai, so I had to try that. I got Beef Pad Thai and ordered it "spicy". One of my favorite parts about the place is that you can choose your spiciness level on a six star scale. The dish was delicious-the perfect blend of spicy and subtly sweet with tender beef. My fiance ordered the Pad See-Ew noodles-stir fried flat rice noodles, with egg in brown sauce sweet sauce with broccoli and beef. The flat noodles were wonderful, but the dish was too spicy, as he ordered it "medium" but it was much spicier than my dish. The atmosphere is nothing to be desired, but the staff was extremely friendly and made sure our visit was pleasant. I cant wait to go back and try other dishes from the menu-they all sounded amazing!
