Eh... My "medium" mocha was tiny. And it was just alright. I ordered a Four Cheese Panini, which was really good, but it took a really long time to make it. With no one else in line. Or in the cafe, for that matter. Also, really expensive. I spent $13 on a sandwich and a timble of coffee. I probably will not return.

Ritual is great. I love the roasted red pepper panini sandwich. Always good service, and it's gorgeous in the summer time when they can open up the big door. Of the shops in Des Moines, I would consider Ritual one of my favorites along with Zanzibar's. I always have a good experience.

I recently wrote in a review that this is my favorite coffee shop in Des Moines-and I meant it. The atmosphere is just amazing-with a stage that holds comfy leather couches and can be used for events as well. It was such a pleasure to meet the owners, as you can tell they really love what they do and take pride in their work. The Divine Chai is my favorite-and the mostly vegetarian menu is tastey, even to those of us that love meat. I have never been for breakfast, but its on my to-do list!

Love this place! A recent born again vegan, I was struggling to find my way in the vegetarian world. Eating out was a bit scary but Ritual Cafe makes it easy to be good. I had the hummus plate, green tea and the vegan peanut butter cookie and oat bar. It was all delicious and I had no doubts it was good for me! My lunch date (a meat eater) ordered the veggie sandwich and lemonade. He reported he was full and very satisfied!
It was our first time in and the counter help and owner were extremely helpful and kind. We sat outside but loved the decor inside with vintage items and concert posters and just a warm homey feel. Delicious!

I had the pleasure of checking out Ritual Cafe for a review, and it remains my favorite coffee shop around. Right when I walked in I felt welcome by the owners, instead of overwhelmed at the extensive drink menu and coffee lingo. I ordered a Chai Tea that was amazing! The food menu looks delicious, although I havent yet had much from it. Most of the items are vegan, and all very healthy. Like many coffee shops, its a mecca for cultural happenings in Des Moines and they host music and talent often.

i just recently moved to des moines from the west coast and wanted to find a good coffee shop that would soothe my liberal soul. I found Ritual Cafe and life is good!! Not only do they serve excellent espresso, the food is excellent. I don't think there is anywhere else in the city that serves hemp food and drink. Big kudos to this coffeehouse for offering healthy and unique menu items. I love the ambiance-very earthy and warm with a artsy feel to it-not pretenious though.........Oh, yeah, the view from the front bar is breathtaking at sunset. Live music on weekends is pretty impressive as well. Have I gushed enough? I am grateful for the Ritual.......
