After a few rough months, the original owners are back and they're trying to spread the word. Credit card machine is back in business and working on getting their liquor license back. The food quality and service are back to what they were. Tender, juicy carnitas! Delicious, zesty carne asada steak! Chile Relleno was just right, good blend of lightly fried and just spicy enough to keep you interested. Corn chips have a light crunchy texture and salsa so fresh, you'll look for the garden out back!
We're so glad that May and Antonio are back running this East side treasure the way it should be!

No liquor license and now they don't accept debit or credit cards.
Report This ReviewNothing fancy here, just excellent food, fast service and great margaritas. The $1.99 regular margarita is a steal.

Tequila is what I like to consider an East Side treasure. They have great food, great prices and even better Margaritas at even better prices. $2 margaritas all the time...no happy hour to wait for here. The staff if friendly and personal. This is a semi-regular place for good food, good drinks, and meeting good friends. It is small and it certainly is not a five star when it comes to looks but what do you expect from an old gas station and I believe at one time a small office. The kitchen is in what I believe used to be the garage obviously (or should I say hopefully) after some remodeling has been done. #10 Enchilada, taco, rice and beans is my favorite. I think the only that that they could improve on is perhaps the salsa that comes with the free chips, and even that is good (it's just that I have actually had better in the past.) Give them a try and you'll be hooked. Who knows, maybe YOUR picture will end up on their wall (Nope, I’m not saying which one is of the wife and I) And as a bonus if you are into Geocaching you can grab a cache and a Margarita all in one stop.

I dont live far from Tequila Mexican Restaurant so its no wonder I am a regular. Tequila is a small building that was a gas station when I was a child. The interior is still remenicent of a gas station, so dont expect to be impressed by the atmosphere. They serve $2 margaritas all day, everyday! The owner, May usually is our host and her husband is typically in the kitchen. Seating is first come first serve so getting a place to sit on Friday or Saturday can be a challenge unless you arrive early in the evening. The menu is typical of mexican restaurants. I enjoy the #38, the Tequila Burrito. It is stuffed with rice, beans, steak and much much more. The queso dip they offer is the best I have ever had! I have asked May for the recipe numerous times to no avail. All she tells me is that it contains goat cheese.
Try Tequila out for yourself. Its not really a place for a first date but amazing nonetheless.
