I went to college in Ames, and just when I thought I would get out -I landed a great job there. So while I live in Des Moines, I still spend much of my time in Ames. This list is a mix of my college and current favorites!

Report this commentThe Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants ever! I definitely dont get there as often as I would like. The food is fresh, local and innovative, and their cocktails are amazing!

Report this commentThe atmosphere here is one of the best parts-although the food is amazing too! You can come here for anything-studying, or for a night out. The patio is wonderful in the summer months!

Report this commentSushi is one of my favorite foods, and I was so thankful that Ames finally got a good sushi joint. I have always left Samurai happy and they often have new funky combinations that are always good. This is the place for sushi in Ames.

Report this commentWelch Ave was one of my bars of choice in college, and I still love it. Its my favorite place to watch a football game if I dont go down to the field. They have a great relaxed atmosphere, but its still a place that you can cut loose and enjoy a beer...or 10.
