My top spots to bring out of towners

When people come from out of town, I love to pick spots that really showcase Des Moines, and tell visitors we arent just some small town.

    Django

    Django - 1 1/2

    210 10th St. - Des Moines (Downtown)

I think Django is one of the best places in Des Moines to eat. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but not stuffy and the food showcases one of the most talented chefs around. Its top on my list to bring visitors!

    Miyabi 9

    Miyabi 9 - 4 1/2

512 E. Grand Ave. - Des Moines (East Village)

If your guests are sushi lovers-this is a must visit. The atmosphere isnt much unfortunately, but it is housed in the East Village, so you can do some strolling around before or after dinner to show off that great part of the city. I truly believe Miyabi 9 is hands down the best sushi in Des Moines. And your guests wont be disappointed with the very talented sushi chef here.

    Tursi's Latin King

    Tursi's Latin King - 2

2200 Hubbell Ave. - Des Moines (Des Moines Metro)

Des Moines is a city deep rooted in Italian history. We have a strong and proud Italian population and many great dining spots to prove it! Latin King is my favorite, and I think you can never go wrong here.

    Gateway Market and Cafe

    Gateway Market and Cafe - 2 1/2

2002 Woodland Ave. - Des Moines (Downtown)

I think Gateway is a perfect place to bring people for lunch. They have fresh, delicious food-often cooked with local iowa ingredients. Whether your stopping in to get something to make at home, or eating at their cafe or deli counter, there will definitely be a little something for everyone.
